This sea slug usually hangs out amongst the eel grass, but today Melibe leonina is amongst the stars, swimming by the Crab Nebula.

I loved all the colors this mostly white and translucent nudibranch picked up from the water and surrounding flora when I photographed it, and the colors plus the intricate diverticulated gut running through it's hood and cerata reminded me of the Crab Nebula.

The background image is modified from an image taken with the Hubble Space Telescope, credit to NASA, ESA and Allison Loll/Jeff Hester (Arizona State University). Acknowledgement: Davide De Martin (ESA/Hubble). The nudibranch photo was done by me, and I compiled and edited the images.
