Ruby Octopus Rainbow Spiral T-Shirt
A ruby octopus wraps its arms in a spiral showing off its suckers. The photograph has been edited into vibrant psychedelic colors with the arms in magenta with indigo shadows and yellow, red, and green in the suckers. The arm framing the bottom edge is blue and green. Across all the arms individual chromatophores are like colorful pointilism.
I took the original photo in summer of 2024 at Rosario Beach Marine Lab, where researchers there graciously let me photograph their study animals. When I did the photo editing, I wanted to be playful and see how colorful I could get the final piece by isolating different parts of the original photo and modifying and stacking them, and I really love where this ended up.
